Many people swear by home-grown Gak. They would rather cut off their arm and eat it than buy the store bought stuff. For the DIYer, here's the recipe:

1. Get some Borax and dissolve it in a bowl of water. This is your boric acid solution. (Don't go hog wild with the Borax, either -- one teaspoon per cup of water is plenty.)

2. Squeeze some Elmer's School Glue into the bowl of dissolved Borax.

3. Put on a pair of rubber gloves and mix it all up.
